A charity in Gosport which supports parents of children with ADHD and sensory issues has suffered a blow in an arson attack.
Marvels and Meltdowns was planning to transform a minibus which had been donated to them into a sensory bus but on Sunday, arsonists struck and the bus was destroyed.
The charity which is located at St Vincent's College Campus has released a statement which reads:
"We are shocked and saddened that this has happened and has caused us great upset that there are people who believe that this is acceptable. We would urge anyone with any information to pease contact the police on 101 and report anything that you know.
"This has caused us to put our plans for a sensory bus on hold for now but it has made us more determined than before to do it."
The charity was set up by two mums, Shandrika Day and Tricia Lyons whose sons had been diagnosed with ADHD. They run group meetings and one to one sessions to support the parents and carers of children affected. It is run completely on donations and by volunteers.
Shandrika and Tricia have been overwhelmed by the community support and have even had a Justgiving page set up. However, they are asking, if anyone is kind enough to want to donate, to do so through their website so that 100% of the amount raised goes to them.
Tricia said, "We had only put the minibus through the MOT three weeks ago.
"Today has been met with a great sense of community spirit with offers of donations and fundraising."
If you would like to make a donation, you can do so through the website here: marvelsandmeltdowns.org.uk/fundraising.
