'Alice Kettle, is a contemporary textile/fibre artist based in the UK. She has established a unique area of practice, consistently and on an unparalleled scale. She has extended the possibilities of machine embroidery: producing works the size of tapestries, exploiting the textures and effects made possible through the harnessing of a mechanical process to intuitive and creative ends. The scale of her work belies their component parts: individual tiny stitches, which combine to form great swathes of colour, painterly backgrounds incorporating rich hues and metallic sheen.' Alice Kettle has set up a studio practice which undertakes both private and large scale public commissions.

"Hampshire Open Studios" aims to promote the activities and sales of artists and craftspeople living or working in Hampshire.

The two week open studio 'trail' gives people the opportunity of visiting artists exhibiting in their homes, studios and village halls. Most of the work is for sale, with the benefit of direct selling.

Born in Iraq, has lived and worked in Britain since 1975. He obtained a BSc. Degree in Marine Biology in 1973 from Basrah University. In 1975 he was in full time higher education at Southampton University, studying Oceanography, and gained a diploma degree in 1978.

Jeremy Daoud is a Christian artist who has worked in Britain for many years, but in 1999 he decided to follow his ambition by doing a foundation course in art at Southampton City College, and in 2000 he studied Fine Art at Southampton Solent University where he obtained a BA(Hons) in fine art on June 2003.

He has exhibited with Hampshire Artists for two successive years, and also takes part in the "Making Merry" event in Winchester. He has also been commissioned for several individual portraits.

Lucy Unwin graduated with a BA in Fine Art Sculpture from Winchester School of Art in 2006.

• Art in The Garden at the Harold Hillier Gardens in Ampfield, near Romsey.
• The Dancers, a specially-commissioned 2 metre high steel sculpture which looks out across the terrace of the new University Centre.

• Lucy Unwin has a number of sculptures currently on display. The Reader and Leap of Faith are both on permanent display at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London. Her sculptures will shortly be exhibited at the prestigious Bergh Apton Sculpture Trail in Norfolk from 24May-8June 2008.

Sophie Hacker is currently Visiting Tutor at both Winchester School of Art and Sarum College, and Arts and Exhibitions Consultant at Winchester Cathedral.

She trained as an artist in Oxford and at the Slade School of Art. Her paintings and sculptures are in private collections and public spaces. Images of her work, many of them held by the Bridgeman Art Library (www.bridgeman.co.uk), are used throughout Europe and the US.
