March 2008: Family Tickets to a 'Day Out with Thomas'

Winners of the 'Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine' Easter weekend 21 - 24 March 2008.

".....we went on Sunday and it was brilliant. We parked at Ropley Station. We walked up to the platform and immediately saw Thomas and Diesel, who we took pictures of, Diesel was pulling Toad the brake van and Thomas had a carriage. They then made way for Henry who we boarded and went to Alresford station. At Alresford station we saw Bulgy and Sir Lancelot and we took some more pictures. We then had lunch in the station café and watched the trains going past. Daddy bought me a flag. Then we boarded another train not sure who he was meant to be but it was still a steam train which was fab. Back at Ropley we got off the train and wandered around all the things that were going on like a tent with a magician show, another tent with Thomas merchandise where daddy bought me another engine for my wooden train track it was Douglas and his tender. We had a hot drink and had a look around the yard where we saw James and Neville and a couple of other engines. By this time it started to get very cold and we even got snowed on a little so we went home. We had a great time and once again thank you."

Travel ticket includes:
- Freedom to travel all day on steam hauled trains such as ‘Henry' or ‘Daisy' the diesel railcar. Trains run approx every 30-40 minutes from 9.35am to 4.30pm.
- FREE ‘live' entertainment with Mr Wizard shows
- A bouncy slide at Ropley picnic area.
- FREE rides behind ‘Thomas' at Ropley and ‘Percy' at Alresford.
Look out for ‘Sir Topham Hatt, The Fat Controller' and other characters. - FREE face painting at Ropley station.
- Miniature railway running at top of Ropley picnic area - please follow signs.
Facilities on site include:
- FREE car parking at Ropley station in a large field.
- FREE buggy parking, picnic storage, baby feeding and nappy changing in a marquee at Ropley station.
- Hot & cold food and drinks available to purchase from stands at Ropley picnic area plus the West Country Buffet at Alresford station.
- Toilets available on the steam trains and at all stations.
- Baby changing facilities at Alton, Ropley and Alresford Old Goods Shed building.
- Gift shops at Alton, Ropley and Alresford plus ‘Day Out With Thomas' merchandise marquee at Ropley.
- Picnic site available overlooking Alresford station.

The Watercress line advise visitors to arrive before lunch to make the most of the 'DAY OUT WITH THOMAS'
Activities run between 9.35am to 4.30pm
Tickets are normally priced at Adult £15, Child (aged 2-16 yrs) £9, Family (2a+2c) £45. Booking fees apply. Tickets cost same price if purchased on day of visit.
