Pupils from seven schools will be taking part in the first ever youth conference being hosted by Hertsmere Borough Council.
The event – set to become an annual fixture – is being held on Friday, 11 May, and around 65 students aged 11 to 17 are set to attend.
Five workshops have been arranged as part of the day, focussing on the national agenda Every Child Matters. Themes include making a positive contribution; staying safe; being healthy and enjoying and achieving, with talks from the police and youth groups.
Fiona Paul, Youth and Projects Officer, explained: “We’re really excited about the event and hope that students will enjoy the workshops we have arranged.
“We hope they all benefit in some way from attending and take the information back to the classroom.”
Schools participating are:
Aldenham School, Borehamwood
Yavneh College, Borehamwood
Haberdashers Aske’s Girls’ School, Borehamwood
Mount Grace School, Potters Bar
Bushey Hall School, Bushey
