Get Creative before Christmas

If, at 31 December 2006, you are aged 16 or under you are invited to submit a design to be used for the Council's corporate card.
The design should be no more than A4 in size (29.5cm by 21cm) and can be produced in paints, crayons, pencil or pen and ink.
A panel of judges, including the Mayor and Mayoress, will then choose the winning entry which will be converted to a special card. It will also be converted to an electronic card, to be featured on our website and distributed electronically. The winner will also receive a certificate and £50 gift voucher. Second and third place winners will also receive a runners-up certificate and £30 and £20 vouchers respectively.
Mayor Cllr Martin Heywood said: "This is a great way of engaging with young people and our communities. Too often the Council can be seen as remote and distant so this is a good way of trying to dispel this image and have some fun."
Entries should be submitted to Christmas card competition, Hertsmere Borough Council, Civic Offices, Elstree Way, Borehamwood, Herts, WD6 1WA and should arrive no later than 12 October. You must include your name, full address, telephone number and your age on a separate piece of paper with your entry. The winner will be required to take part in publicity after the event.
