'Hours 4 Ours' Launches in Ards
Be One of a Million & Rediscover Your Local Community Spirit!
What's in the name?
Well, exactly what it says - hours of good work for our local community.
Communities across the country are set to benefit from 1 million hours of community improvements thanks to AboutMyArea - the UK's largest network of community websites.
Leading the way in this ground-breaking campaign is your local AboutMyArea Site Editor, Martine - ‘Hours 4 Ours' will engage local people in re-kindling local community sprit, improving the local area, and hopefully having some fun along the way.
The AboutMyArea network - which covers over 300 major postcodes across the country - will be actively seeking out local projects to improve communities across the length and breadth of the UK.
"Once we know what needs fixing we will be looking for local businesses to help out with donations of materials or staff time to really make a difference in Elstree & Borehamwood."

John Taplin, founder of AboutMyArea said: "Hours 4 Ours provides the ideal vehicle for the community to re-discover its cultural home - helping others to help themselves. Those communities who have failed to secure institutional funding, either through local councils or National Lottery awards, should definitely come forward as we may be able to actively assist them with their project."

If you already have a project in mind, please submit your proposal and we'll get started!
For those who don't have a specific project in mind but would like to volunteer even an hour of your time, please take a moment to register with the site and we'll keep you up to date with new projects as they are proposed and then you will be able to ‘pledge' some time to a project.
