On Saturday 21 June, local youngsters will get the change to show The FA what they can do with a football.
The FA Tesco Skills Roadshow will be at the Tesco on Shenley Road in Borehamwood to kick off this summer's national tour.
From 11am until 3pm boys and girls aged 5 -11 years will be able to take part in a uniquely designed free football skills session.
Specially trained FA Skills coaches will be on hand to give the children the very best coaching, whilst they test their skills in a number of inflatable football games which will be set up on the day.
This summer's national roadshow form's an integral part of The FA Tesco Skills Programme which has been set up to raise the standard of football in England among 5-11 year old boys and girls.
Said local Tesco Community Champion Marion Naylor "This is fabulous opportunity for youngsters in the area to come down and meet FA coaches. They will get the chance to practice new skills whilst learning from the best and there is no doubt the day will be a lot of fun."
The FA Tesco Skills Programme also has a specially designed website, set up exclusively for the scheme. Children can go online at www.TheFA.com/Skills and improve their skills using skills challenges, fun games, drills and videos. The site also has a section for parents that give tips and advice on helping children play football as well as details of Skills Centres where children can receive on-going coaching in the local area.
Tesco has recently become a partner of the English Football Association as part of its goal to get two million children active by 2012.
