Saturday 21 June
Festival Parade
The FESTIVAL PARADE starts two weeks of activites and will set out from Brook Road car park at 1.45 pm. The entries will travel along Brook Road car park, Shenley Road, Theobald Street, Aycliffe Road, Leeming Road and back along Brook Road to the car park. This year the Parade will feature three bands - our local ATC Band, the Harpendent Pipe Band and the Derby Midshipmen Marching Band. It is not too late for anyone to enter either on foot or with a vehicle to contact 020 8207 1382 if you would like to take part. Prizes sponsored by Apatech Limited.
Eblos Show Radio Fun
The ELSTREE & BOREHAMWOOD LIGHT OPERATIC SOCIETY presents RADIO FUN, a celebration of Radio from its earliest days until today - featuring songs and sketches from favourtie radio shows. Doors open 7.30 pm for an 8 pm start. Tickets are £5, available on the door or in advance from Fairway hall, Brook Close (020 8207 1382) Monday to Thursday 8.45 am - 3.45 pm or Friday 8.45 am to 12 Noon.

Shul Open Day
All are welcome to an "open house" SHUL OPEN DAY at the Croxdale Road Synagogue from 10 am to 12 noon. A rare chance for interested visitors to see behind the scenes with a tour of the premises, exhibits and a talk by Rabbi Naftali Brawer with a free buffet lunch. This is an opportunity to explore and understand another religion and the Synagogue look forward to the pleasure of your company.
Fun Run & Half Marathon
The always popular FESTIVAL HALF MARATHON and the little easier FUN RUN are staged today at the Hertswood Centre, Potters Lane. The event is organised by the borehamwood Athletic club and sponsored by Cardif Pinnacle Insurance plc. Whether you are an experienced marathon runner or just fancy a fun run around the town, this is the event for you. For entry forms, contact Pauline Poole on 020 8207 2852.
Festival History Walk
Your chance to participate in a LOCAL HISTORY WALK. The Borehamwood Museum, in conjunction with the Town Council, are presenting a guided walk around old Borehamwood. Local history experts will point out buildings of interest and explain how the Town developed. The Walk is at 3 pm and starts from the museum in Drayton Road. BBC Concert
Where can you hear a 45 piece band play some great live music today? The answer is tonight at Allum Hall, Allum Lane, starting at 8 pm (doors open at 7.30 pm). The Concert by the BBC ELSTREE BAND programme will include the overtue from "Mack and Mabel", "Miss Saigon", "The King and I" with musical tributes to Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington, plus much more. Come and enjoy some easy listening music. Tickets only £5 which includes free tea/coffee/soft drink. Festival Cricket Match (21st Anniversary)
Tonights is the 21st anniversary of the annual FESTIVAL CRICKET MATCH when the Festival XI bravely take on the Elstree Cricket Team at their ground in Aldenham Road, Elstree. The match is from 6.30 pm and spectators are welcome to spend an enjoyable evening in the summer sun and there is a licensed bar!

Baby Show (50th anniversary)
Since the 1950's, the FESTIVAL BABY SHOW has been part of the Festival tradition and this fun event remains popular six decades later. It is purely for fun and an afternoon out for young mums, dads and proud grandparents. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the competition. The show is held at Allum Hall, Allum Lane with doors open from 1.30 pm and no entries after 2.15 pm. The competition is usually over by 3 pm in tiem for the school run! There are prizes for 6 - 12 months and 13 - 24 months with enetry on the day but you must be a resident of Elstree and Borehamwood.
Festival Quiz
Tonight local teams battle it out in the FESTIVAL QUIZ at the Royal British Legion Club. Teams wishing to enter (subject to availability) please contact 020 8207 1382.

Borehamwood Brass Band
The always popular BOREHAMWOOD BRASS BAND are in concert tonight at All Saints Church, Shenley road. We are guaranteed a varied and enjoyable selection of popular numbers to suite everyone. Doors open at 7.30 pm, starts at 8 pm. Admission is FREE.

Schools Art Show
The annual SCHOOLS ART SHOW opens today at the Village Hall, Shenley road. This is a chance to view the marvellous artwork from the local schools of the area and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Elstree and Borehamwood. it is an eye-opener, so whether you are a parent or an interested resident, pop along. FREE admission, with doors open 9 am to 5 pm today. Also open on Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm and Monday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Youth Bands Evening
The FESTIVAL ATTLE OF THE BANDS is back with "B-FEST 2008" at the Hertswood Centre, Potters Lane from 7 pm to 11 pm. Fire station and Police Station Open Day
Today is a rare opportunity to look behind the scenes of our emergency services with the open days at the Borehamwood POLICE STATION and FIRE STATION in Elstree Way. The doors are opened for you to come along and special displays will be organised. Open from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Festival Flower Show
The annual FESTIVAL FLOWER SHOW organised by the Borehamwood Garden Crafts Society will be brining a splash of colour to Allum Hall, Allum Lane. You are invited to come along and talk to fellow gardeners or admire the displays. From 2.30 pm.
Elstree Production Show
Elstree Production presents - "Blast from the Past" - an all singing and dancing muscial featuring numbers from the 1950s through to the 1980s. This talented group promise fun and entertainemnt, so come along and support our local merchants of music. The show is held at Fairway Hall, Brook Close with a matinee at 3 pm (doors open at 2.30 pm) and an evening performance at 7.30 pm (doors open at 7 pm). Elstree Film Evening
The 24th annual ELSTREE FILM EVENING means a special evening out to join star guests in a trip down cinema's nostalgic memory lane. The evening includes well known film music from the BBC Elstree Concert Band and some fascinating film clips celebrating 80 years of movies from Elstree's studios - this year it will be hald at the Elstree Film Studios, Shenley road. Doors open at 6.30 pm with the show starting at 7.30 pm. This once a year event is not to be missed if you are a film lover. There is a licensed bar. Elstree Screen Heritage Group will be issuing a free 80 year celebration dvd and booklet. Scouts 100th event
A special event takes place today at the historic Schopwick House in Elstree - the original home of the past Deputy Scout, Sir Percy Everett. The Town Council are organising a GARDENPARTY FOR LOCAL SCOUTS AND GUIDES to celebrate the 100th anniversary in our town. Invited guests only.
Festival church Service
This year the FESITVAL CHURCH SERVICE will be hosted by the Baptist Church, Furzehill Road, led by Reverend Ray Ellis. The service starts at 4 pm and people of all faiths are welcome. Come along and celebrate our local community.

Charity Gala Clairvoyance Evening
Join the Inner Light at Fairway Hall, Brook Close for the CHARITY GLALA CLAIRVOYANCE EVENING. Three hours of clairvoyance with three guest mediums - Jeff Phillips, Bill Rich and Lulo. Help raise money for Cancer Research by coming along and having a great night out. Entrance £10. Doors open 7.45 pm and starts at 8 pm.
Borehamwood Community Unity Choir Concert
Come along and listen to the BOREHAMWOOD COM.UNITY CHOIR CONCERT at St. Michael's Church, Brook road. The Choir consists of local residents of all ages.
