THE CAMOMILE LAWN by Mary Wesley (Vintage Books - £7.99 pbk)
Mary Wesley published her first novel at the age of seventy and went on to write nine best sellers, including The Camomile Lawn. She died in 2002, but her novels live on...
The Camomile lawn is set in 1939 and follows the lives of five young cousins through the war and beyond, into adulthood and old age. They are united by shared losses, loves, family and friends, a true story of the trials and tribulations of life during a time that now seems far removed from today's families, and yet, wishfully, sends the reader back to a time when life, although filled with tragedy, still somehow seemed more idyllic than now.
The Camomile Lawn is spanking good read, filled with laughter, tears, thrills and joy. It is a rich book spanning generations of lives that will touch the heart of it s readers.
If you want to travel back to a time when life seemed simpler, even when in the midst of a war, then read The Camomile Lawn and enjoy...

COSMIC ORDERING by Debbie Frank (Penguin - £6.99 pbk)
We have all been inundated lately with the term ‘cosmic ordering' and how Noel Edmonds re-started his career with deal-or-no deal using ‘positive thinking'. So when I chose this book for my monthly review I was prepared to be a little sceptic as there are so many books out there that say the same thing using different terms; cosmic ordering, being in tune with ones' inner-spirit etc etc.
I was, however, pleasantly surprised. First the book isn't too long so keeps your attention. Secondly it is very easy to read with step-by-step instructions on how to get your head thinking in a more realistic and positive way even if life is not working for you at present and it shows you how you can make little changes that turn negativity into something more hopeful...
In short, we all know what we should do to feel better but life and our own doubts get in the way, but this little book might, for a short time, put you on a more positive track that may lead you into a better place. And we all know that one good thing leads to another! So, if you can afford £6.99 and are ready to change your way if thinking then Cosmic Ordering could be the book for you...
TORN CLOUDS by Judy Hall (O Books - £9.99 pbk)
Haunted by a dream Megan Kennar finds herself travelling back in time to Luxor in Egypt to find she has lived another life. This is an intriguing book that has a curious mixture of modern life set in London and Egypt. I found the time travel element interesting, but at times a bit messy and confusing where the plots didn’t quite fuse together. Nevertheless Megan’s story of past regression is an engrossing one and cleverly done and carries the reader along quite nicely. An interesting and thought provoking read that would make for a good bedtime read.
