TASTE 2008 - Report & Photos

Published: 9th September 2008 09:02

On Saturday 6 September TASTE 2008 gave youths the opportunity to discover what activities are available to them locally and to suggest what other activities they would like to see on offer - suggestions from the youths that attended included trampolining and a youth club disco.

The event was organised by Margaret Bracey, NHDC's Community Development Officer for Hitchin, and took place at Church House, Hitchin. It is hoped that the event will become an annual occasion. Exhibitors included the Voice of Hitchin Youth, the Hitchin Sea Cadets, the Scouts, Hitchin Christian Centre, Hitchin Rugby Football Club and the Association of Traditional Shotokan Karate. Information for youths from all the exhibitors will soon be available here on AboutMyArea.

Any other groups out there that wish to be part of TASTE 2009 and have their activities published in both a proposed booklet aimed at youths and here on AboutMyArea, please get in touch with either Margaret Bracey (01462 474830; 07824 600079; margaret.bracey@north-herts.gov.uk) or Emma Sangster (01462 456434; 07940 834839; emmasangster@aboutmyarea.co.uk).

A pupil from Priory School won the lucky flyer number, which was 25, and an I-Tunes voucher is winging its way to the school for her.
