St John's Community Centre has the benefit of being situated next to a children's play area and a sports field. St John's is within 5 minutes' walking distance from Hitchin town centre.
The centre caters for various interest groups including Keep Fit (some classes include a creche), Parkinson's Disease Group (meetings, as well as yoga & exercise classes for Parkinson's sufferers), Youth Club, Bingo, Art Club, Scouts, Beavers, Cubs, Slimming World, Rosemary Conley, Lighterlife, Hitchin Friendship Centre, School of Indian Classical Music, Sewing Group etc.
St John's can accomodate up to 225 - main hall 150 seated (225 standing); meeting room 20 max. It is an ideal place to hold a variety of social functions, parties and one-off meetings, as well as a venue for those wishing to hire the centre on a regular basis.

Meeting rooms are available with capacities ranging from 20 to 150. Tables and chairs are provided. The smaller rooms are suitable for small groups, AGMs etc. The large hall is suitable for family functions.
Groups using the centre include: cubs and beavers; children's dance; tae kwon do.
There are separate records for the following: St Michael's Mount Over 55's; Teddybear Playgroup; Tumble Tots; Weightwatchers; Tai Chi; Yoga.

The 90 bus stop is nearby and Hitchin station is approximately half a mile away.
Accessibility:
Good disabled parking, a well-lit car park and entrance, good ramps/level access, provision for guide dogs, disabled toilet. Accessible to a wheelchair user travelling with assistance.

- Main hall from £6.35 per hour. NB Premium rates apply on Saturdays: £7.90 per hour until 7.00pm; 7pm-11pm £15.80; 11pm-midnight £31.60

A venue for various community activities, with a committee room seating 20 and the hall seating 150.
The hall is available for hire on Fridays and Saturdays as well as at some other times. Please phone 01462 452098 for more details.
