Hitchin Shopmobility

Hitchin Shopmobility provides manual wheelchairs and electric scooters to anyone who has walking difficulties to enable them to use all the Hitchin town centre facilities, including shops, market, library, GP surgeries, churches etc. Training will be given. Registration with the scheme is essential and pre-booking is strongly advised.
Hitchin Shopmobility is based in two locations:
- Waitrose Supermarket (Bedford Road; Tel 01462 423399); and
- Cane & Able Healthcare (28 Bancroft; Tel 01462 454521)
Both locations have good access for people with disabilities. Waitrose has good availability of dedicated disabled parking and a disabled toilet. Cane & Able Healthcare has limited on-road parking, with provision of 2 dedicated disabled parking spaces.
Waitrose opens 10am-4pm Mon-Sat. Cane and Able opens 10am-4pm Mon-Fri and 9am-1pm Sat.
