Team Trisports World Champs Qualifier

In a busy post Easter weekend of racing Team Trisports were in action over the duathlon, triathlon and marathon distances.
The Cambridge Duathlon hosted the final qualifier for the World Age Group Duathlon Championships to be held in Nancy, France later in the year. Jackie Perry (pictured) qualified outright for her 4th Age Group World Championship with an age group win in the 50-54 category in a time of 2:38:22 for the 7.5km run/40km bike/7.5km run.
First home for the club was Steve Metcalfe in 2:09:21 for 28th overall from 300 entries and 13th in age group. Mark Harris was 6th in the 25-29 age group in 2:11:51 and Steffan Ford 2:16:35 was followed in by Brian White who won a bronze in the 55-59 category in a time of 2:21:03.
Also in duathlon action were Tony Ward and Liz Wood who competed on a closed road circuit on Kempton Race Course in the Ful-On Duathlon. They completed the 6km run/18km bike/6km run in 1:25:08 and 1:46:53 for 52nd and 158th overall.
Jon Wilson was in PB form at the Brighton Marathon with a 3:18:32. Mark Beaver finished in 3:43:19 and Clemmie Forrester completed her first marathon in 3:49:44. Naomi Woodland improved on her previous best to finish in 4:01:44
Kate Turner ensured a warm weather start to the tri season with a trip to the inaugural ICAN Marbella Middle Distance event which she completed in 5:49:21.
