The latest news from Hitchin Film Club volunteers Tim Ray, Keith Hoskins, Paul Gower and Cherry Lincoln...
Hello All,
Films return on Tuesday September 30th with The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Starring Brad Pitt it's a Mark Kermode film of the year and something contemporary to start with.
On October 8th we have the multi-award winning Il Postino. This is a beautiful, classic and gentle film which will remind us of the summer we haven't had this year! Come and get some Italian sunshine.
Many of you have been asking to have a good laugh - so it's Hot Fuzz on October 21st, which also ensures we have an English film in this season.
Then it's off to New Zealand for In My Fathers Den, starring Matthew McFadden and recommended by Cherry, November 13th
End of November, we have something completely different with a rare chance to see on the big screen a masterpiece of surrealist cinema by Luis Bunuel. Come and see why Franco's regime wasn't too keen on it ... Viridiana, November 25th
And then it's the short film extravaganza - just how many films can you watch in one night. There'll be a chance to comment and discuss the films and then re-watch the one which gets the highest audience vote...and see what you missed the first time It's amazing what you can get into 10 minutes or so and you never get it all on the first viewing.
Looking forward to it already.
Tim, Keith, Paul and Cherry.
