A New Comedy & Music Club for Hitchin: Mostly Comedy
| Published: 10th October 2008 01:07 |
The local comedy double act Doggett and Ephgrave cordially invite you to the opening night of their new comedy and music club, 'Mostly Comedy', which will run 'mostly' once a month, 'mostly' upstairs at The George in Hitchin.
The duo - who are fresh from a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival - were inspired by the variety of late-night comedy and music nights they encountered whilst playing Scotland's capital, and wanted to set up a club with a similar informal atmosphere and high quality entertainment value, here in their home town of Hitchin.
Each night will feature an entertaining mix of stand-up, sketch comedy and music - with the opportunity for attendees to grab an 'open mic' slot and show the audience what they're worth. The evening's entertainment will be hosted by Doggett and Ephgrave, with music from the 'mostly comedy' house-band Spandex Ballet.
The opening line-up includes stand-up from Paul Harry Allen ("Russell Howard meets Rob Brydon...a joy to watch" - Three Weeks) and Stevenage-based comedian Stav Black. Admission is only £3.00, with a late bar and cheap drinks available all night.
