Eastenders Actress to Open New Market Office

Actress Martha Ross, who played a market trader in EastEnders for 21 years, is setting up her stall again but this time it's in Hitchin. She will be cutting the ribbon on the new ground-level Market Office at 20 Churchgate on Saturday (November 22) at noon.
Come along and meet the new team behind the market from 12pm until 2pm and sample nibbles provided by the traders while hearing about future plans. Management of the market was handed over to Hitchin Town Centre Initiative by owners North Hertfordshire District Council in August.
Martha, who has appeared in a variety of programmes including Grange Hill, lives in Hitchin and is the mother of an entertainment dynasty including well-known television presenter Jonathan Ross.
