Hitchin Film Club Presents 8 Award-Winning Short Films

Make sure you head to the Studio at the Queen Mother Theatre (Walsworth Road, Hitchin) for 8pm next Wednesday (10 December) to see the following 8 Award-winning short films from around the world:
"Two Cars One Night" (NZ, 2005, 11mins)
While waiting for their parents, two boys and a girl meet in the car park of a rural pub. What at first seems to be a relationship based on rivalry soon develops into a close friendship. We learn that love can be found in the most unlikely of places.
"Nature's Way" (NZ, 2005, 11mins)
Deep within the forest, there is no rest. A supernatural thriller.
"Goodbye To The Normals" (UK, 2006, 4mins)
A comic tale exploring what happens if we grow up a little too fast...!
"Comme Un Air" (France, 2006, 9mins)
On a beautiful day in Paris, a well known tune is suddenly picked up by all sorts of people in the streets of the city. Toucing, uplifting, award winning short from a hot new french talent.
"Me and Her" (UK, 2006,15mins)
Coleen works as a chambermaid in an inner city hotel. Damien has reluctantly taken a job alongside her during his summer holiday. Whilst killing time together Coleen and Damien have discovered an unexpected attraction to each other. During their last shift they fumble their way through hangovers, hoovering and personal insecurities until they finally confront the significance of their last working day together.
"Hibernation" (UK, 2005,15mins)
1985. A secret tree house. Two children disguised in animal costumes experiment to revive a bee. But they are searching for a way to bring back something much bigger. A magical and moving story about children on a journey of discovery and revelation.
"Sniffer" (Norway, 2006, 10mins)
In a society where everyone has the ability to fly, the citizens anchor themselves to the ground via "gravitation boots". Devoid of sunlight and the open sky, the members of society go about their routine without any hope of personal gratification. One day, however, a man decides he has had enough attempt to challenge the status quo. He quits his job, loosens his bindings, and literally takes off.
"Secret Language" (Ireland,2005,13mins)
The forces of dark and evil are all around. A three-fingered man with a shady past threatens to end the exciting career of Michael Hardy Super Spy. The only person that stands between him and sheer disaster is his son James, a young boy from Dublin. James and his dad use Irish as a secret language to discuss their covert spy business. They must never let James' mum know about their undercover missions. But soon everything will be thrown into turmoil and life will never be the same again...
