REBECCA AND DAVID DUNDON - A DAUGHTER AND FATHER EFFORT.
Rebecca is running the site with the support of her Dad ( David ) who is currently working as a full time consultant in the Stationery/Printing industry.
David says, 'Rebecca is doing all of the work but I am supporting her in my spare time.She has a real passion for reporting the truth'
Rebecca has extensive experience in both gathering,compiling,writing and reading local and national News.with ITN, Capital Radio, Capital Gold, Mercury and Chiltern Radio.
She has lived in St Albans all her life and her life. Her ambition has always been ito faithfully write and present local news through a medium such as 'About My Area', raising Important issues that would be of real importance to the people of St.Albans. Her Experience is extensive both as a broadcaster and as a manager in the media..She has over 14 years experience in National and Local news and has worked with ITN, Capital Radio, Capital Gold, Mercury and Chiltern Radio. She was presented with 'Young Broadcaster of the year award ' in 1996.She has had some high points in her career.Particularly ,meeting and chaperoning TONY BLAIR for a day around Mercury FM'.This left a lasting impression on her. Politics apart, she said 'He was one of the most interesting people that I have ever met'.
'I WORKED WITH CHRIS TARRANT AND STEVE PENK, READING THE NEWS AND INTERACTING WITH THEM ON AIR, ASSIMILATING AND VERIFYING THE NEWS THROUGH IRN AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. WHILST USING EVERY BIT OF SPARE TIME AT CAPITAL TO LEARN ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY. I WAS ALSO CALLED OUT BY TALK RADIO DURING THE WATFORD TRAIN DISASTER NEAR CASSIOBURY PARK, COMMUNICATING WITH LISTENERS ALL NIGHT ON A FREELANCE BASIS DURING THE NIGHT OF THE CRASH.I ALSO CHAPERONED AND INTERVIEWED THE PRIME MINISTER TONY BLAIR, PRIOR TO THE LAST ELECTION AT MERCURY FM.'
David has been a local resident of St Albans for nearly 30 years and has a great affinity and affection for the area.His career began in the early seventies in Sales and Marketing and ended up with him starting his own Business ( for 24 years ) from home ,before moving in a to Local office and warehouse.He is currently employed as a full time consultant in the industry after selling his business to a local Company . He is spending his spare time helping and advising Rebeccca in building her new venture.Both David and Rebecca have a real passion for working in the community and David has spent many years working for local Charities and spending time ( where possible ) with the Charity 'Crisis' in London at Christmas time.
