Need Newborn Know How?

Research released today reveals that eight out of ten (85%) new parents in the UK did not know what to do when they returned home with their first newborn baby, with a third (36%) feeling completely overwhelmed and under preparedƒ¡. So, to help first time parents, SMA Nutrition*, who conducted the research, has teamed up celebrity mum Kirstie Allsopp with a registered midwife to make the SMA Nutrition Newborn Know How DVD - a complete guide to the first few days of parenthood.
Of the new parents questioned in the UK:
- Two thirds (65%)1 did not feel confident fitting the car seat for the journey home from hospital
- Two thirds (66%)1 did not feel confident bathing their newborn
- Two thirds (65%)1 did not feel confident settling their newborn and putting them to bed
- Over half (53%)1 did not feel confident breast or bottle feeding their newborn
- One in four (40%)ƒ¡ did not feel confident changing their newborn's nappy
- One third (34%)1 did not feel confident handling and holding their newborn
