CRISIS - WHAT CRISIS?
Life has a way of happening when you're planning "other things"
The path ahead seemed simple - you can handle what it brings
Then suddenly one morning a bolt out of the blue
And all the things you thought you had no longer can hold true
You gather those around you who matter most of all
You need them to support you as your life spins in freefall
Yet, each of them are reeling and drowning in despair
And inwardly we're screaming - "this really isn't fair!"
No emotions on the surface, they're pushed down and out of sight
We'll deal with them tomorrow - we can't handle them tonight
Then somehow there's momentum and each one does their share
We keep our spirits flying - be it on a wing and prayer
Life takes on strange new meaning so much clearer than before
The smallest things are treasures to be cherished and adored
More listening than talking now we seem to understand
There's a quality to living that we're clutching in our hand
Now out of devastation there springs life more than before
The wake-up call was crucial and must not be ignored
So with more determination we are focussed on our dreams
Yet now aware the best laid plans can burst at all the seams
Each day becomes a journey to where? - we know not yet
Our compass is our memory to ensure we don't forget
That this 'crisis' has a lesson and reason in disguise
To use it to good purpose to inspire and enrich lives
So smile through all those down days and, yes - crying is allowed
And counting blessing one by one will always make you proud
Whatever may befall you, and whatever life may bring
The secret's in loving people and won't be found in "things"
