Annabel's turkey challenge nets cash for charity
TV sports presenter Annabel Croft is facing one of her toughest challenges yet! The former tennis ace has been spending long hours in the kitchen creating a dish fit to become a new favourite with the British public. It's not an easy task - her recipe will have to be become as popular as bangers and mash or spaghetti bolognese. What's more, the main ingredient must be British turkey!
Annabel is hoping her efforts will net a tidy sum for the children's medical charity SPARKS, of which she is a patron. TV chef Phil Vickery has lined up two other SPARKS sporting celebrities - champion jockey Frankie Dettori, who has already unveiled his recipe for Rolled Turkey, and rugby star Matt Dawson - plus three professional chefs to tickle the nation's tastebuds.
Says energetic mother-of-three Annabel: "I'm very conscious about keeping fit and eating healthily so turkey is a perfect choice for me." She has devised a recipe for Spicy Turkey Tortillas which is likely to be a hit with all busy mums as it can be on the table in less than 30 minutes.
Annabel's recipe, with crunchy red pepper and red onion, will now be judged by visitors to http://www.britishturkey.co.uk/ - so log on, try the recipe and vote to keep Annabel in the challenge.
And if you think you can do better, there's a chance to win a two night spa break for two by sending in your own original recipe to http://www.britishturkey.co.uk/. In the meantime, here's Annabel's to try:
