School bus transport affected by industrial action
It is anticipated that a number of school buses in the Inverness, Ross and Cromarty and Nairn areas will not be running on Tuesday 11 November, 2008 due to industrial action being taken by drivers at Stagecoach Bluebird.
The Highland Council is working with Stagecoach to minimise the disruption to services, including school bus services. However, Stagecoach Bluebird buses will not be operating on routes to the following schools:
Ross Area:
- Resolis Primary School
- Fortrose Academy feeder buses
- Dingwall Academy
- Alness Academy
- Invergordon Academy
- Tain Royal Academy
Inverness Area:
- Charleston Academy
- Culloden Academy
- Millburn Academy
- Glen Urquhart High School
- Glenurquhart Primary School
- Kilchuimen Academy
- Bun Sgoil Ghaidlaig
- Inshes Primary School
- Balnain Primary School
Nairn Area:
- Auldearn School
- Rosebank School
- Millbank School
The Invergarry to Lochaber High School bus which is operated from the Inverness depot WILL be operated. The Lochinver to Ullapool High School bus WILL be operated. In the Badenoch and Strathspey area Stagecoach Bluebird buses taking pupils to school will operate normally.
Parents should note that each of the above schools will be open as normal for staff and pupils. Parents of children affected by the above industrial action should make alternative arrangements to transport their children to school wherever practical.
All services will resume as normal on Wednesday 12 November, 2008
