EMOTIONAL RECOVERY GROUP
Inaugural Meeting: 3rd November 2008 (and fortnightly thereafter)
Venue: Volunteering Highland, 1A Millburn Road, Inverness
Time: 7-9 pm.
There is no cost - donations are welcomed.
Emotional Recovery is the restoration of peace of mind over uncomfortable or disturbing thoughts and feelings.
The fundamental understanding of Emotional Recovery is that it is not other people or circumstances that cause discomfort or peace, rather it is our thoughts and attitudes toward these things that lead to an experience of happiness or unhappiness.
The healing of disturbing emotions is grounded in a non-religious, spiritual understanding of life and draws upon principles of Buddhist psychology, attitudinal healing and mindfulness practice.
Emotional Recovery recognises health as inner peace, and healing as letting go of fear. It reminds us that it is possible to choose love rather than fear, and peace rather than conflict.
