Guide To Getting The A-List Look

Published: 6th June 2008 08:43
Jonathan Long, style ambassador to Schwarzkopf Gliss has created the ultimate guide to getting the red carpet look at home. Focusing on some of the most iconic red carpet images, Long describes how to re-create the look and recommends key products to craft hairstyles with true star quality.

Sienna Miller
From Boho chic to sophisticated starlet, Sienna's red carpet look is pure elegance. To re-create her look, blow-dry your hair as smoothly as possible, drying down the hair shaft to smooth the cuticles and then go over with straightening irons. Take your hair from one side and make a crisp parting using a paddle brush. Smooth over one should and pin into place at the opposite side, under the ear on the neck. What to use: Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner

Agyness Deyn
A short, styled, modern crop can be the perfect compliment to a rock-inspired, glam look. To recreate Agyness's edgy evening do, after washing, rough dry the hair using your fingers to lift at the front and make the hair stand tall. Use straightening irons and finish off with wax. Finish by setting with hairspray - the messier the better.
What to use? Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner

Katherine Jenkins
A classic updo can be the best accessory to set off a gorgeous gown. To get this look set hair with heated rollers, spritz with hairspray and allow to cool - the volume and body that will be created by this is the building block of your look. Scrape your hair back into a smooth, tight high ponytail on the crown of your head. Backcomb the ponytail and fan it out with your fingers over your hand and pin into place, tucking in the ends of the hair. Smooth and pin the top layer of hair, whilst hiding the pins underneath. Spray with more hairspray. What to use? Volumising Hairspray

Kate Hudson
You don't have to be one of Hollywood's golden girls to make waves like these. Get Kate's effortless style by rough drying hair with a hairdryer and then using the largest tongs you can find, randomly tong sections of the hair. Tong the front section backwards to lift away from face. Curl the hair around fingers to make as soft as possible and separate sections to create that beach-waves look.
What to use: Gloss Spray Treatment
