Homeowners over 70 years of age can look forward to a warmer future and lower fuel bills with free loft and cavity wall insulation. The insulation measures, fitted free of charge, are available to all over 70's irrespective of income. Interested residents should call London Warm Zone on 0800 587 2251 or http://www.londonwarmzones.co.uk/ to book a survey for this limited offer.
"With rising fuel bills, older people are especially concerned about using their heating. Loft and cavity wall insulation will make homes warmer for a lower cost in the winter and will keep them cooler during the summer. If your home is not insulated and you are over 70, contact London Warm Zone now." said Martin Parsons, Head of Residential Services.
The average three bed semi-detached house can lose around half of its heat through the roof and walls. By insulating cavity walls, homeowners can save up to £90 per year on their heating bills and an average of 750kg of carbon dioxide. Insulating the loft to a depth of 270mm can add a further saving of £110 per year on heating bills and a tonne of carbon dioxide.
London Warm Zone works with councils across London to bring together all the available grants from local and central government and EDF Energy to help people to improve the energy efficiency of their home.
Bromley residents are advised to be wary of any insulation company that cold calls, selling either by telephone or door-to-door. If residents are in any doubt about their consumer rights or the credibility of an insulation company, please call Bromley's energy advice line on 020 8313 4914.
