With its famous blackout screen signed by those airmen who saw action in the skies above Kent during WWII, the White Hart at Brasted is definitely full of history but is it somewhere that you would recommend?
I love the White Hart...
I am not so keen because...

The White Hart is situated on the A25. It has good parking space within the grounds but must not be confused with The White Horse along the same road. The White Hart has WW2 History: the Biggin Hill pilots used it as a 'local' and the black-out board with the priceless signatures of the Battle of Britain pilots is now preserved behind glass. The venue receives warm memories in the book 'Fighter Boys' also Penguin book 'First Light' by Geoffrey Wellum, the latter a best seller by this ex-Biggin Hill pilot. Framed pictures and memorabilia featuring 'household' name pilots make a visit here a good experience. The menu is reasonably priced and extensive and the atmosphere is informal and friendly. As one may expect the ale sold here includes 'Spitfire'. Well recommended. Get there early for lunch in the summer when it can be busy, a good indication of popularity. Alan F.
