Shopping Area
The shopping areas of Petts Wood are to be found either side of the main railway line; Petts Wood East includes Station Square, Rice Parade, Petts Wood Road, Fairway and Bluston Parade; Petts Wood West includes Queensway, Chatsworth Parade and West Approach.
The town has a good mix of independent retail shops and services as well as some larger chain stores so residents and visitors can do most of their shopping in the town without heading out.
The town is fortunate to have recently had a CCTV network added which will help deter criminals. Allied to this, the Petts Wood & Knoll area has an excellent Safer Neighbourhoods Team which has helped to reduce crime by 50% over the past 18 months.
The Petts Wood Business Association also works in the town to support the interests of local shops and businesses. The PWBA has been involved in many of the recent improvements to the town centre along with the Petts Wood & District Residents' Association and local ward councillors.
