Rosemere Cancer Foundation

Rosemere Cancer Foundation is a registered charity (registered charity number 1051194) that provides additional facilities and equipment for patients of The Royal Preston Hospital's Cancer Centre, and other Cancer Centres across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation aims to raise £500,000 during 2007/08, which will contribute towards the costs of research, training, equipment and patient welfare projects, to ensure that patients receive the very best care possible.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation organises an annual calendar of fund-raising events, both at home and overseas, thanks to its partnership with Global Adventure Challenge. Past fund-raising challenges have included white water rafting in Borneo, canoeing off the Cape and trekking the Grand Canyon.

A number of groups help to raise money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, one of which is Catherine's Crusaders.
Catherine's Crusaders was established by Joan Kearney whose daughter Catherine's fought a battle with cancer, which she sadly lost in November 2005. Catherine herself started raising money for Rosemere, having purchased a 'Frog Family' and enquired about the work that Rosemere Cancer Foundation actually did. Having held a couple of fund-raising events, the group was christened 'Catherine's Crusaders'. Since its creation, Catherine's Crusaders has raised almost £35,000 for the charity. Joan is keen to continue raising money for the Foundation and is thankful to family, friends and other supporters who have helped her come this far.
This money has been raised by events such as sponsored walks, fashion shows and attendance at fairs, including last year's Haslingden Street Fair.
