Healthy Tip No 1

Published: 31st July 2008 21:50
PH Balance
Eating a well balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables will help to maintain a normal acid/alkaline balance in the body.

Fruit and vegetables

Our body works at its best when it is slightly alkaline.
Virtually all degenerative diseases are associated with excessive acidity.

Fruit and vegetables are alkaline forming. This includes citrus fruits, where our body converts the acid to become alkaline. There is vitamin C in fruit and vegetables, and this important vitamin has a protective and healing effect.
Too many high protein foods create excessive acid, as does excessive intake of grains, bread and cereals.

Thanks to Brenda Kirkham, Holistic Therapist, for this healthy hint.
