Party in the Park

The hugely popular Party in the Park returns to Openshaw Park on Rochdale Road, Bury on Saturday 23 June promising to be bigger than ever as it coincides with the Olympic Torch Relay.
The torch will set off nearby towards the end of the event so why not come and have some fun at the park first?
This free fun day is packed with events and entertainment for all the family, and brings together people from all walks of life in East Bury.
There will be sports competitions, a climbing wall, face/henna painting, a falconry display and lots of music and dancing. Visitors can also expect caged football, a penalty shoot-out, Wheels for All cycling and fairground rides.
The police will be there with a mobile police station, and the fire service are bringing along their engines. Food ranges from traditional barbecues and ice cream to Polish and Asian fare.
Teams from the council and health service will have information stalls covering everything from recycling to childcare, and local residents' and faith groups will also be represented.
Music is provided by a DJ and two performances by Bury Music Centre musicians. There will also be dancing by children from the Polish community.
The party runs from 12pm to 4pm, and concludes with a prize raffle.
