The story of 8 year old Theo Bishop and his attempts to raise £45,000 for life-changing surgery in the States has touched the hearts of many people in Rossendale.
Raising money for surgey: Theo Bishop
Theo, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of two, is on a mission to raise the money for the surgery, which will enable him to walk without the use of a frame. Schools, businesses and members of the community in Rossendale have held fundraising events to help him on his mission. But more is needed to help Theo and his family raise the final £15,000.
AboutMyArea, in association with Rossendale Radio, have organised ‘The Great Rossendale Dress Down Day' in aid of Theo's Big Leap. The date is ‘Leap Day', Wednesday 29th February, and we are calling on schools, businesses, anyone, to join us in this quest to give Theo's fundraising a push towards the final total needed.
So, what do you need to do? It really is simple - all you need to do is arrange for people at your workplace or school to pay £1 each to dress down for the day. Gather together the money and we will arrange collection. It really couldn't be easier!
Please pledge your support by e-mailing your details to Rossendale@aboutmyarea.co.uk and we will make sure that you get a mention. You can even send some photos to us for inclusion on the website after the event.
Thank you in advance for your support in helping to change Theo's life.
