Helmshore over-50s Club

The Helmshore over-50s Club meets at St. Thomas' Church Hall on the first and third Wednesday of every month, from 1.30 - 3.30pm.
The Club is the brainchild of Hazel Warren, who felt that Helmshore needed to offer something for this age group.
Whilst still in its early days, the Club already has guest speakers lined up, who will come along to talk to the group on various subjects.
In addition to these guest speakers, the members of the Club enjoy games of dominoes, bingo, word quizzes and a 'Race Around Britain'.
The Club operates in a democratic manner, with the members of the Club coming up with ideas for activities and subjects they'd like to learn more about.
The Club has the support of Age Concern, and was formed in conjunction with the Bishop's 'Mission Action Plan' - a five-year plan which aims to improve the integration of the church with the local community.
There is a £1 subscription fee payable each week, which contributes towards the cost of running the club and providing refreshments.
The Club is currently looking for a new name. If you have any ideas please place them in the comments box below, or e-mail them to me.
