Cotton Shed is an exciting new theatre company situated right here in East Lancashire!

If you're interested in performing and producing new and original theatre, then Cotton Shed wants to hear from you.

By joining Cotton Shed you will have the opportunity to work alongside professional artists, meet new people and develop your performance skills in a fun, creative environment.

So, what is Cotton Shed?

Cotton Shed in an inclusive theatre company, established in 2008, which runs workshops for Children (aged 7-11), Youth(aged 11-16) and Company (aged 16+ - post GCSE).  The aim of Cotton Shed is to produce professional innovative theatre, created for everybody by everybody.

Inclusive theatre is theatre that is open to everyone.  Cotton Shed has no audition process so everyone is welcome.  Cotton Shed believes in everybody's creativity and they strive for members to reflect the community of Rossendale.

Cotton Shed has been developed by Haslingden Primary School, Tor View Specialist Arts School and Haslingden High School to provide the Rossendale community with a theatre company that enables the area to create high quality inclusive theatre.

Cotton Shed enables its members to gain confidence and develop skills in performance, writing, devising and the importance and value of commuity cohesion and how this can be attained through the performing arts.

When do Cotton Shed workshops take place?

All Cotton Shed workshops are held at Haslingden Primary School, Hazeldene Road entrance.

Two Children's Theatres (aged 7-11) are held - one on Monday from 5.30 - 6.45pm and the other on Tuesday from 3.45 - 5.00pm.

Youth Theatre (aged 11-16) workshops take place on Tuesday from 5.30 - 6.45pm.

Company Theatre (aged 16+) sessions are held on Monday from 7.15 - 8.45pm.

Sessions cost £3.00, and an annual membership fee of £10.00 is also payable.
