If you make a mistake when cooking it doesn't mean that your dish will be inedible. Here are 5 tips to stop you getting hot under the collar.
1.If your food is too chilli-hot, put in a pinch or two of sugar to mellow it out
2. If you over-whip cream and need to loosen it, whisk in a few drops of milk
3. Lumps in your sauce? Put it through a sieve and it will be fine
4. If something is too oily or greasy, put ice cubes on the top - the fat will stick to them.
Alternatively, blot excess fat with paper towel
5. If your onions or vegetables are frying too quickly, don't add more oil, put a splash of water in the pan instead
