Do You Want to Lose Weight?

Experienced local Nutritional Therapist Monica McCusker will be running a Weight Loss Course in Ramsbottom in the near future.
Monica ran the 8 week course in Accrington starting in late April and all attendees were delighted with the weight that they lost.

Monica is confident that the most effective way to lose and sustain weight is by ensuring that your foods are low Glycaemic Load (GL) foods. That is, that they release their energy or sugar into your system in a much slower rate than the high GL foods thereby controlling your weight better.
Examples of low GL foods are complex carbohydrates and proteins, such as wholegrains and legumes. In contrast high GL foods are refined foods such as sugar, white bread and cornflakes.
Monica will provide lots of meal ideas and things to try out, so you know what to buy and what to make. Also her approach includes using some Neuro Linguistic Programming techniques that she finds beneficial, such as goal setting. Her belief is that without a clear goal it is hard to maintain dietary or lifestyle changes.
Exercise is a crucial part of losing weight and she addresses ways of incorporating this into ones' busy lifestyle.
One of the key ways that Monica's course differs from others is by addressing the emotional aspects of eating. Many of us have an emotional attachment to food and until we become aware of what these are we will find it difficult to sustain weight loss.
The 8 week weight loss course will provide peer support from the small group setting and also professional advice and support from Monica both in the session and between sessions.
If you are interested in attending the course, please contact Monica on 07740 680401 or e-mail monica@manchesternutrition.co.uk.
