Fun For All The Family At The New Deer View Farm Shop
Rossendale locals, Gary Davis and his family from Scar End Farm, Weir, officially opened Deer View Farm Shop, on Friday 2nd May.
It was the breathtaking scenery that lured Gary Davis aged 49, to the hills of Weir, when he moved to Scar End Farm, in 2001, with no previous farming experience whatsoever.
Inspired by his five year old grandson, Jack, the Deer View Farm Shop has been developed through a combination of Gary's entrepreneurial drive and enthusiasm for country life.

The purpose built Farm Shop, which boasts a brand new tea room for refreshments and fresh free-range produce, such as cheese, eggs' and meats, including a selection of mouth watering bacon and sausages.
Alongside the wide variety of foods to select, visitors may take their own tour of the farm, get up close to the farm deer, hand feed the chickens, giggle at the antics of the piglets and see how big adult pigs really are.
Gary Davis said, "It's easy for us to get in our cars and drive to a supermarket to do our shopping, with little understanding of where or how the food was produced. I wanted my grandson to know the importance and benefits of buying locally produced foods, whilst providing an understanding of exactly where it comes from."
He added, "Deer View Farm Shop is testament to our passion for country life in Rossendale. Now, we get to share our passion and knowledge with local people of all ages, from toddlers to old age pensioners, who can see where and how our foods are produced and truly taste the difference."
