Kit-Astrophes - Sky HD Reveal The Worst Ever Football Kits
As the premiership season kicks off and the top clubs unveil their new kits and players, Sky HD surveyed 1,000 UK football fans to uncover the top 10 worst football kits of all time.
With more colours than Joseph's coat and design work that would make most WAGs turn their noses up in disgust, these kits line the corridors of world football's ‘hall of shame'.
Sky HD viewers will be able to immerse themselves in the action and with colours more vivid and intense than ever before, they may need to shield their eyes from some of the more ‘colourful' kits on display this season. We all have a personal favourite for the dubious honour of worst ever football kit and here are the top 10...
Hull City 1992/93
1992-1993 - Hull City Home Shirt
1.Nicknamed the tigers, the creator of this shirt took the name literally when designing this awful tiger print design. The subject of nationwide derision, this shirt lasted a season before being hastily replaced.
2. 1995-1996 - Manchester United Away Shirt
Without a shadow of a doubt, the most controversial football strip of all time. In April 1996, United trailed Southampton 3-0 at half-time Alex Ferguson forced his players to change strips and blamed the grey tone for the team's performance, claiming the players were camouflaged on the pitch by blending into the fans in the background. United still lost the game 3-1 and the kit was subsequently withdrawn from production two years ahead of schedule.

3. Mexico - 1990's - The Jorge Campos collection
More well-known for designing his own bizarre kit than any discernible goalkeeping talent, Campos and his multi-coloured shirt designs brought one of football's biggest fashion faux pas to the 1994 and 1998 World Cup finals. He hit top form in 1994, when a green, pink, yellow and black abomination was the envy of the fashion elite.
4. 1990-1991 - Arsenal Away Shirt
Affectionately titled ‘the bruised banana' this kit failed to garner admiring looks from the footballing world but more importantly never managed to ignite enthusiasm in the Highbury faithful.

5. 1992-1993 Norwich City Home Shirt
This queasy paint flecked ensemble known to fans as the ‘Bird Poo Kit', was worn by Norwich, unlike some of the other kit-astrophes, as they achieved great things with memorable moments in Europe.
6. 1992-1993 Birmingham Home Shirt
In the 1990s Birmingham wore some particularly strange kits but none more so than this all-blue ensemble with multi-coloured paint splashes. The kit unfortunately didn't last the season...along with the club's board.
7. 1992-1993 - Wolverhampton Wanderers Home Shirt
Synonymous for ridicule of its gold and black look, in 1992, Wolves home shirt fanned the fashion flames of fury with unusual multi-coloured smears across the body.
8. 2004-2005 Cameroon Home One Piece Kit
This skin tight green and orange one piece football kit did not have fans queuing up to buy the replica. The kit caused international outrage when it was deemed to have broken FIFA regulations. Not the kind of shirt you would typically be seen wearing in the pub.
9. 2007-2008 Chelsea Away Shirt
This year's eye sore is the motorway workman's kit of choice with the luminous yellow spectacle set to light up HD TV screens and Stamford Bridge this season. Manager Jose Mourinho is usually revered for his style but may need to don his sunglasses to watch his team this season.
10. 1989-91 - Liverpool Away Shirt
Another grey shirt takes a place in the top 10, this time the Liverpool away shirt from the late 80's, a decade well logged for producing some of the worst football fashion crimes. However, the shirt allowed people to focus their attentions purely on the player's faces with heartthrobs such as Peter Beardsley and Mark Lawrenson causing the female contingent of Anfield to go weak at the knees.
Fashion designer and football fan Wayne Hemingway said, "Some of these kits give the world of design a bad name, but maybe they didn't come from the hand of a designer. As a Blackburn fan I completely agree with the number two choice and what were Hull thinking of? Maybe they wanted to become competition to that god-awful Tight Fit cheesy pop group and do their version The Tiger Sleeps Tonight? The new Chelsea away kit is pretty eye catching, and "pretty " is a good term ....this fluorescent material would make a pretty frock. And if you're watching them on Sky Sports HD make sure you've got some dark sunglasses because that colour will literally jump off the screen."
