Saturday 6th October will see the official unveiling of Rawtenstall's brand new Town Square, when the area will come alive for Rawtenstall Annual Fair.
2011's Rawtenstall Annual Fair took place in the old Valley Centre.
This year the venue will be Rawtenstall's brand new town square
From 11.00am to 6.00pm, you can enjoy dance troupes, live music, food and drink, free children's activities and workshops, and much more.
The day will also include the finale of the Historia! dance celebration - a community project recording the memories of the Astoria Dance Halls and there will be an Astoria big band tribute led by an original member of the Astoria band playing classic numbers from the 40s, 50s and 60s, including Glenn Miller and Count Basie.
An old-style Rossendale Bus will be used to take people from the East Lancs Railway station in Rawtenstall to key locations in the town.
The Grand Opening of the square will be at 11.00am, shortly followed by the 'reveal' of the Historia! community mosaic by Bobby Elliott of the Hollies. The Fair market has local food and drink stands, community information, local art and craft plus much more.
Go along and join in the fun!
