Geocaching in Rossendale and Bury
| Published: 25th July 2011 14:50 |
If you're looking for a fun, local day out that is free of charge, take a look at Geocaching.
Victoria Park, Haslingden:
Currently home to two geocaches
All you need to do is visit the Geocaching website, select your postcode and follow the clues to hidden treasure, and a log book to record your find. If you choose to remove an item from the geocache, the rules are that you need to replace it with something of equal of greater value.
If you have a smart phone you can also download an app to help you on your journey, and guide you, via clues, to the next geocache.
There are significantly more geocaches detailed in the Rossendale and Bury areas than when I first looked at this a year or so ago. Great fun, and not just for children.
Please take care close to rivers, on steps and in muddy areas...
