Irwell Vale offers some beautiful scenery and opportunities for walks in and around this peaceful haven.
Positioned between River Irwell and River Ogden, the village of Irwell Vale dates back to 1833 when workers' cottages were built to home the workers at the local cotton and wool mills.

With the East Lancashire Railway running through (and stopping at) Irwell Vale, and the rivers offering idyllic walks along the waterside, today, sleepy Irwell Vale is the perfect place to relax.
A noticeboard in the village offers inspiration for walks around the local area, and also gives an insight into the history of the village.
If you haven't been before, Irwell Vale is certainly worth adding to your list of places to visit in the local area.
