Lonely hearts Alpacas In Burbage

Lonely hearts Llamas In Burbage

I was expecting washing machines and prams on my classified adverts on AboutMyArea web site. When I got one for 2 lonely Alpacas it had to be investigated.

Carrie Jackson who runs Aston Alpacas between Aston Flamville and Burbage is passionate about her animals. She said "I was only going to have two and bought Molly and her partner in February 2004.... I now has 19, with the latest addition Callie born in June this year."

Carrie is reluctantly having to sell ‘Dec' and ‘Bailey' but they are in need of new mates so are in search of pastures new.

Bailey is 2 years old and loves to have a gambol in the field on a warm summers evening. He loves a good chat and likes nothing more than being the centre of attention.

Dec is a bit of a star as he came second in his class at the Royal Show last year. A hansom lad and very popular with the ladies, he too loves lots of attention. His hobbies include doing ‘Tigger' impersonations across the field - he certainly knows how to impress the girls!

Both are looking for new homes and are prepared to travel

They are easy to keep and make ideal pets as they only need ½ acre and are quite happy living on grass, water and a small amount of calf feed a day and of course lots of affection. They are good at walking with a halter but need to be kept with at least one other Alpacas as they are herd animals and don't like being on their own

There are two types of alpaca, the Huacaya which has shorter fluffier coats and the Suri who look as if they have dreadlocks.

So if you think you can help get in touch with Carrie on Tel 07986977457

Both Bailey and Dec have now found a new home together and are very happy there. Thank you.
