WHAT IS IDENTICHIP?
A microchip and an electromagnetic coil in a capsule the size of a grain of rice.
Each chip has a number that will relate to yours and your pets details.
Once inserted into your pet, it provides an inexpensive but permanent means of identification throughout the life of your pet.
The chip is usually inserted into the scruff of the animals neck by a simple injection; a bit like what they get for their vaccinations.
The id chip responds to a low voltage electronic signal from the scanner and transmits its unique code, which is then displayed. This then allows Vets, Pet Rescue Staff, Dog Wardens and the Police to then access a database to discover the identity of the pet and its owner.

Identichip was the first UK microchip when introduced in 1989 and there are over 2 million animals with an identichip in the UK. It is unique in that it has a patented anti-migration cap which ensures that the microchip cannot move around the body of the pet.
You can get your animal chipped at any age.
Don't forget to change your details should you move home or change phone numbers!!
If you rehome your pet please write a letter stating the change of ownership to Identichip as the new owner won't be able to register the pet as their own.
