Farmer's Market Award
| Published: 9th May 2008 18:08 |

Strong competition created a nail biting final as Wirral Farmers were up against Riverside Food Market from Cardiff and St. Giles' Farmer's Market in Kent. Wirral's win is testament to the work done by local producers to promote and spread the word about good produce and delicious food.
"I think the Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards matter because they really are a chance to honour the work that people are doing to try to make our food better in this country - and heaven knows we need it! There's a long way to go but it's very exciting to see producers, shopkeepers, dinner ladies and campaigners all being celebrated."
Sophie Grigson, chair of this year's judging panel.
