openart , South Northants’ annual exhibition of contemporary visual art and designer-maker craft will take place over the weekend of 13 and 14 September in the attractive setting of Nicholas Hawksmoor School, Towcester, a school well known for its commitment to the arts. Browse and buy work from over 30 professional makers, take part in a workshop and chat to the artists. This year openart 08 is part of Open Studios Northamptonshire.
openart at Ncholas Hawksmoor SchoolNow in its 4th year, openart will once more transform the school hall into a light, airy and spacious gallery attracting local artists and design makers from across the county to showcase their work. We promise you a truly diverse selection of work to enjoy, from a simple handmade card; a funky piece of jewellery; a beautifully crafted handbag to a contemporary sculpture or a piece of art for your wall. There will be something for all tastes and size of pocket.
Year 6 students will run their own gallery promoting and selling work they have produced (if their parents haven’t bought it first!) This year, their inspiration comes from a recent trip to Cornwall. Meet some of the artists and participate in artist-led workshops where you will be encouraged to try something new. Both adults and children can get involved and create something to take home. As well as the workshops there will be activities for children whilst parents browse the galleries at their leisure and enjoy refreshments in the café.
Opening Hours: Sat 13th & Sun 14th September 10 am - 4pm
