OFFICERS from a safer community team in the south of the county are working with their partners to launch a new youth forum.
The Towcester Safer Community Team, alongside a range of partners from the Towcester area, are urging young people aged 12 to 18 to sit on the new forum to help shape youth services in the town.
Partner agencies such as Towcester Football and Rugby Clubs, the army and air cadets, Connexions and youth club representatives will attend an event at the town hall to talk to young people about what is on offer in Towcester.
Young people who attend the event will be urged to join the youth forum.
PCSO James Herbert said: "At the event we will be encouraging young people aged 12 to 18 to join the youth forum.
"The forum will look at things such as what young people in Towcester want and how to go about funding these projects.
"Some young people in Towcester think there is nothing for them to do and we want to address that situation.
"We don’t have a problem with anti-social behaviour in Towcester but we hope this scheme will help to decrease it even further."
There will also be a prize draw at the event and the gifts have been supplied by the MK Dons Football Club. The prizes are tickets to upcoming football matches.
The event will take place at Towcester Town Hall on Monday 24 November from 4pm to 6pm.
