Visitors packed to the fun-packed weekend with Northampton Carnival cancelled at the last minute, the event continues tomorrow Sunday and will include another pirate attack.
Visitors will also be able to get a glimpse of what life would have been like on the historic waterway with a display of working narrow boats, demonstrations of breasting up and lock working. There will also be two trip boats offering an opportunity to see nearby Blisworth Tunnel from the inside.
The Canal Museum will be open extended hours (10am - 6pm) throughout the weekend with special 2-FOR-1 entry on presentation of car park tickets to enable festival-goers to explore the history of our waterways or pick up a souvenir of their visit.
There are two new exhibitions on Blisworth Tunnel and Canals at War to be explored on the upper floors. The free event* is organised by the Friends of the Canal Museum in partnership with the Canal Museum and the local community to raise awareness of the Museum and all that the canal side village of Stoke Bruerne has to offer.
