England Talent Football Day: “A Pathway To The Paralympics”
Are you a keen footballer between the ages of 11 – 16?
Do you consider yourself as having any of the following impairments: Amputee, Deaf, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disability, Partially Sighted or Blind?
Have you ever wondered how The FA identifies a talented disabled footballer to represent England & Great Britain in World and Paralympic Competition?
Well, this is where it all starts… This summer, The FA is delivering FREE England Talent Days across the country to find the next England disability football star. In Northamptonshire, the event will be taking place on Sunday 27th May, 10am – 1pm at GOALS Soccer Centre, Northampton. There will be qualified football staff, coaches and volunteers on hand throughout to support and ensure an enjoyable experience for all involved.
Players will experience a morning of football where they will be observed by FA coaches and staff with a view to selection for County, Regional or National Football Squads (this may include selection for an England Disability Squad). Following the FA England Talent Day, players will be directed to and be supported to access appropriate opportunities in football that match ability levels and aspirations.
Any boys or girls in school years 7 – 11 are eligible to attend the day, with The FA targeting the following impairment groups: Amputee, Blind, Deaf, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disability or Partially Sighted.
