Kings Camps
The purpose of King's Camps
School holidays should be memorable, they should put back the zest in young people. King's Camps lead to enthusiasm, purpose and fulfilment and school holidays become exactly what they should be - great fun!
Our aim is to inspire them and motivate children so that sport is enjoyable and rewarding whatever their ability. Our staff teams help develop personal skill and awareness of others. They are there to encourage and enthuse the children.
The King's Foundation
King's Camps is part of the King's Foundation, a not for profit registered Christian educational charity (1105460) that uses sport and activity to help children and young people develop and mature into responsible members of society.
King's is passionate about child development and as well as organising the largest network of children's camps in the UK, the foundation works with children and young people in greatest need in both the UK and in the developing world.
Since 2002 we have been working in some of the most deprived communities in Botswana and Uganda. Our sports outreach programmes have enabled us to work directly with thousands of children, giving them the emotional, physical, educational and spiritual benefits that sports activities bring. Over a number of years we have seen the children and young people develop and grow and have seen the positive impact of sport on their lives.
We have also had the privilege of working along side hundreds of local leaders, training them and equipping them so that they can run sports programmes of their own. We have a number of full time sports ministry coordinators living and working in these communities, supporting local volunteers and helping projects to become sustainable. Because we have a long term approach and are committed to the people we work with, we have seen friendships built, partnerships forged and lives transformed.
