At the Northampton Music & Performing Arts Centre we offer well established groups for a wide range of ages, beginning with our group for:-
Parent/Carers of babies up to nine months
These classes run on a ten-week basis offering a general introduction to the pleasures of music-making with your baby. The sessions offer songs, rhymes and activities, which can be continued with the baby at home. The group meets once a week and consists of ten adults and their babies.
Our next group is for parent/carers and their children
A shared session, covering a wide range of music-making activities, in a small group of eleven adults and their children. The sessions develop the child, not only musically, but also socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. The sessions aim to suit the personalities and abilities of all children between the ages of nine months and three years.
The age group for this session is three years to school entry
Lastly, a group of ten children meet to experience songs, rhymes, music and movement and are offered the opportunity to compose, listen, perform and respond to music along a half-termly theme. The child again is being developed as a whole whilst experiencing positive musical activities. This group also offers the child the opportunity to undertake the session by his/herself when, or if, they are happy to do so, otherwise a parent/carer may stay to support the child.
All sessions are well planned, organised and structured. They are led by staff who have a wide range of experience, especially in Early Years. Overall, we aim to provide sessions that give a positive musical experience for all.
Group sessions last for 45 minutes and are run at various times during the week.
The cost per term for Early Years Groups is set for 2005/6 at £46.00 or £128.00 per year. In case of financial hardship, a scheme exists to help, please ask.

Welcome to Music Time! Our classes are all about having fun together with music and ensuring that your child's early musical experiences are creative and enjoyable.
Classes are for babies (0-1yr), toddlers (1-2yrs) and pre-school children (2yrs+) all carefully designed to support and encourage the musical ability that all children possess.
According to their age, children enjoy singing, finger rhymes, tickling songs, action songs and games, dancing, composing, improvisation and playing percussion instruments - which all adds up to 45 minutes spent in a relaxed and friendly class having fun with your child!
Music Time offers an excellent foundation in the basic musical elements encouraging a love of music that will last a lifetime!

Little Kickers® classes are helping 4000+ children a week discover the rewards of regular structured physical exercise, laying the foundation for fit, active and healthy lives.
The Little Kickers® programme, developed and continually improved by FA qualified coaches and nursery school teachers with ongoing input from child health specialists, introduces real footballs skills through exciting group play activities. Valuable concepts like sharing; taking turns, teamwork and listening to instructions are incorporated in the activities.
The classes also enable children to develop co-ordination, agility and balance and early learning concepts such as colours and numbers are gently introduced through football. The football equipment used is realistic and child friendly.
