Fans endorse Silverstone as thousands buy tickets for the 2009 British Grand Prix Just over a week since Lewis Hamilton’s sensational win at his home Grand Prix at Silverstone, more than 5,000 fans have already booked their tickets for the 2009 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX, taking place on 19-21 June 2009*.
This year’s British Grand Prix was a record sell-out on all three days as race goers were eagerto be part of the spectacular live action and support British drivers Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and David Coulthard. Early ticket sales for the 2009 British Grand Prix indicate that the event’s popularity and F1 fever among the British public are at an all time high.
Fans have been showing their continued backing for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, booking tickets for next year, as well as sending the circuit numerous messages of support.
Examples include an F1 fan from Chesterfield, who emailed the circuit saying, “I have just spent a fantastic weekend at Silverstone for this year’s event. The track, as many of the drivers say, is brilliant. The viewing areas for spectators are second to none whether it is from a grandstand or a grassy bank. Getting in and out is quick and easy with the A43 and good traffic regulations. Silverstone is and always will be the home of British motor sport and, in my opinion, should continue to be the home of the British Grand Prix.
